09.09.2019 - Bell 505 HB-ZWR - Vorabgletscher/GR

Helicopter accident occurred on the Vorabgletscher, a ski resort in the Canton of Graubünden on Monday September, 10 2019. Just a slightly injured passenger. 

The accident occurred shortly before 4:00 pm while the Bell 505 with call-sign HB-ZWR in service with Robert Fuchs AG was preparing to land on the landing area at 2,967 meters.
According to information released by the Grisons police just before landing, the pilot would have lost control while the helicopter was just a few meters from the ground.
On board along with the 53-year-old pilot, there were four passengers.
After the incident the occupants were descended by a Rega helicopter which rushed on the scene after the alarm. A 60-year-old female passenger was then transported to Chur by ambulance for additional medical checks.
The Bell 505, the second registered in Switzerland, had entered service with the Schwyz based operator in the autumn last year.
Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (STSB) officials who arrived on the place by helicopter will investigate to determine the causes of the accident.
