14.02.2024 - AS 350B3 Ecureuil HB-ZES - Niouc/VS

According to a press release issued by the Valais police, a helicopter crashed today in Niouc, at the entrance to the Val d'Anniviers. The pilot, who was the only person on board, was injured.
Around 8.30 a.m., the AS 350B3 Ecureuil was carrying out aerial work operations along a power line when, for reasons that the investigation will have to establish, hit a cable and crashed.
The pilot was transported to the hospital in Sion by an Air-Glaciers air ambulance.
According to the Blick portal, the helicopter was in service with the operator Eagle Valais. The wreckage of the helicopter was removed with an helicopter of the same type in service with Air Zermatt.
Under Article 98 of the Aviation Act, the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland is responsible for the prosecution of offences committed on board an aircraft.
In order to clarify the exact course of events and the cause of the accident, experts of the Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (STSB) have opened an inquiry.
The investigation is being conducted with the support of the public prosecutor's office and the Valais cantonal police.
